Part Time/Occasional
Our part time roles are designed for flexibility and adaptability. These positions are booked on an as-needed basis, allowing you to work as little or as much as you choose. Enjoy the freedom to accept or decline opportunities that fit your schedule and preferences.
In these roles, you will actively engage in teaching, supporting, and supervising programs while assisting with the preparation of various activities. Your work will span a diverse array of programming, including school workshops, after-school programs, in-home birthday parties, and community events.
With changing locations and settings, your work environment will be dynamic and engaging. While some roles, like after-school programs, offer more consistent scheduling, others may be one-off events. Embrace the opportunity to inspire the next generation while enjoying a flexible work-life balance!
Full Time Contracts

Join our team for an enriching full-time summer experience with contracts lasting 8 to 10 weeks. These positions offer stability, allowing you to work consistently at the same site while following a structured weekly schedule of 40+ hours alongside a dedicated team.

These roles are ideal for individuals seeking consistent work over the summer or March break, including educators and students looking to make the most of their time off. Seasoned chefs will also find this a fantastic opportunity to explore education as a new career direction, immersing themselves in the world of teaching while learning invaluable skills in working with and instructing children.

Lead Chef
Lead Chef are the driving force behind our summer camps! In this full-time role, leads oversee and manage the entire program, leading and supporting onsite staff to ensure a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers. As the brand ambassador for Rooks to Cooks, leads are the main point of contact for parents and site staff, building strong relationships while representing our values. In additional to their managerial duties, leads deliver our innovative curriculum through interactive cooking demonstrations, inspiring young chefs and creating a memorable, educational summer experience.

Sous Chef
Sous Chefs are essential to the success of our summer camps, managing the back-of-house operations to ensure everything runs smoothly. In this full-time role, they oversee inventory, mise en place, and kitchen organization, collaborating closely with the Lead Chef to support the program’s daily execution. They also actively supervise and assist campers during cooking activities, sharing culinary knowledge, offering tips and tricks, and mentoring them as they work through recipes. As part of their leadership responsibilities, Sous Chefs guide and mentor the Chef in Training (CIT) candidates, helping them develop essential culinary skills for future success in the industry. Their expertise and support create a fun, safe, and educational environment where campers feel inspired and empowered to grow as young chefs!

Lead Counsellor
Lead Camp Counselors are key to creating the lively, enthusiastic, and supportive atmosphere that defines the summer camp experience. In this full-time role, they oversee camp-side programming and manage both Junior Counselors and Counselor in Training (CIT) candidates to ensure all ingredients, equipment, and sanitation standards are in place while upholding camper care policies. They are responsible for planning and leading dynamic recess activities, including sports, games, arts, and crafts, while ensuring campers’ emotional and physical well-being throughout the day. As mentors to CITs, they guide and support their growth, helping them gain valuable experience in working with children. Lead Camp Counselors ensure that camp is not only fun and inviting but also organized, safe, and empowering for every camper.

Junior Counsellor
Junior Camp Counsellors play a vital support role, assisting the Lead Counsellor in creating a fun, safe, and engaging camp environment. In entry level position, they help prepare materials for all camp activities, support the delivery of dynamic recess programming, and assist in supervising and managing campers throughout the day. Additionally, they help with closing up the camp space daily, assisting with cleaning tasks and mise en place preparation. This position is perfect for high school students seeking a summer job and aspiring to work their way up to a Lead Counsellor position in the future.

Kitchen Assistant
Kitchen Assistants are key to ensure the smooth operation of our summer camps, supporting daily kitchen activities and ensuring cleanliness and organization. In this entry-level role, they manage dish pit duties, wash, dry, and put away dishes, take out the garbage, and maintain a clean kitchen space through sweeping and mopping. They assist with organizing inventory, ensuring that the fridge, freezers, and pantry are clean and orderly at all times. Kitchen Assistants conduct mise en place preparation for campers, support the Sous Chef with next day’s prep, and help supervise campers to maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment. Their contributions ensure that all aspects of the culinary program run efficiently, creating a positive and welcoming experience for campers.
