Get ready for a sweet, fall-inspired culinary adventure! 

Join Rooks to Cooks in collaboration with The Mom Market at the Toronto Botanical Garden on September 20th, 2025, for a hands-on Pumpkin-Spiced Mochi Workshop! 

In this fun and festive 30-minute session, you’ll explore the world of traditional Japanese mochi; a soft, chewy rice cake made from glutinous rice flour. Guided by our team of professional Chefs, you'll learn how to assemble, shape, and cook your own Mochi creations!

Our Autumn twist? We’ll be using pre-made mochi dough, naturally coloured with sweet potato and/or squash, and shaping them into adorable little pumpkins which will be filled with a warm, fragrant pumpkin-spiced bean paste—a delicious blend of fall flavours and Japanese tradition.

This workshop is beginner-friendly, family-friendly, and perfect for ages 4 and up.

Workshop length: 30 minutes 
Time: 11am-3pm. Workshops every 45 minutes.
